Animals in Contemporary Art

An exhibition featuring artwork from Cao Xifeng, Dong Shaoliang, Huang Liyan, Liu Xiaomiao, Wang Guangfu, Wang Xiaojin,  Xu Yinuo, Xu Ziqing, Yan Jiang, Yin Conggang, Yu Chiyang, Zhang Bo, Zhang Jiqin and Zhou Jingjing.

Throughout history many artists have painted in a variety of styles, used a myriad of materials and leveraged a multitude of objects, people, landscapes, animals etc. as their inspiration.

We combed through over 750+ paintings in our online collection to curate some of the art that includes animals. This collection exemplifies well how animals are incorporated into contemporary art. They play many roles in contemporary art; from being the focus, to playing a supporting role, to simply being a small part in the background or even the foreground.

In this exhibition we’ve collated 26 paintings. By no means are these works of art all the paintings in our collection that contain animals. Make sure to check out the rest of our site after viewing this curated collection to find more artwork with animals.

We hope you enjoy the exhibition!
