Artist's reflection: Although this is an obvious winter landscape painting, there seems to be a warm aspect to it. Perhaps it is the soft feeling Dong skillfully conveys through his brush strokes. 
 
Dong's contemporary watercolor paintings are mainly based on the natural scenery of the four seasons. Many of his works are created from his travels or daily life. His paintings are simple and generous, but pass on to the viewer unique feelings about the four seasons. It is as if through the paintings the viewer can feel the the comfort and calmness of close contact with nature.
