Artist's reflection: A dark, uninviting and mysterious forest is one way to describe the contemporary landscape painting that master artist Li created. His skillful brush strokes captured the sharp tree branches that are in the foreground, while also sharing the pines in the background. Yet, as with other paintings of his in this series, the bright sky provides a glimmer of positivity. 
 
The works in Li's "Wasteland" series are representations of his interpretations of what is beyond city life and therefore what represents the meaning of life.
