Artist's reflection: Dark, lonely, and scary can aptly describe this contemporary landscape artwork. And even though darker colors are used details are still present and the hints of white color used on the ground generate a mysterious feeling for a viewer. 
 
The works in Li's "Wasteland" series are representations of his interpretations of what is beyond city life and therefore what represents the meaning of life.
