Artist's reflection: There seems to be a balance between the lighter and darker colors in this contemporary piece. You can see green grass, spots of sunlight, and brown and white tree trunks. This is a warm and calm piece of modern art. 
 
The works in Li's "Wasteland" series are representations of his interpretations of what is beyond city life and therefore what represents the meaning of life.
