Artist's reflection: In this contemporary painting, Hong uses a variety of shades of several colors to create a scenic view. The darker tree trunks and branches contrast well with the grayish leaves to almost give them a glow. 
 
Hong Yu, who is originally from a rural setting, has a deep connection with the four seasons and a special affection for their characteristics including the rain, snow, wind and frost. During his 1,000+ kilometer journey from Anhui Province, China to Beijing, China he captured these characteristics and the atmosphere that enveloped him. Through his artwork, Hong likes to convey to others what he sees and how his heart interprets it.
