Artist: Du Qingwei
 
Artist's reflection: As with other paintings in this series, this contemporary artwork is simple, with little color and a lot of space. Yet when combining the image with the title, it seems appropriate. It looks as if something is sprouting up, a beginning perhaps.  
 
After speaking with friends in the spring of 2018, Du Qingwei decided to create paintings of the 24 Solar Terms. Each Solar Term is completed on that day. However the content has no relevance to the Solar Term itself. It is based his feelings of the day. And within one lunar year all 24 will be completed.
