Artist's reflection: While this painting mainly employs more subtle colors there is still obvious constrast. The sky is separated by dark, light and bright colors. And the ground is dominated by a washed out green. However a brighter green is also sparingly applied to create a bit of spark. 
 
Dong's watercolors are mainly based on the natural scenery of the four seasons. Many of his works are created from his travels or daily life. His paintings are simple and generous, but pass on to the viewer unique feelings about the four seasons. It is as if through the paintings the viewer can feel the the comfort and calmness of close contact with nature.
