Artist's reflection: Bright and light, there is no misinterpretation of this contemporary painting. While the hallway seems barren the room has at least one image on a wall. Joy and comfort come from this image. 
 
The silence in Zhang’s paintings comes from the peacefulness of his soul. In his paintings, it is as though each color is painted on a limestone colored wall. The colors used are infiltrated by gray and white tones – thus losing their original strength, but softly and elegantly blending together.
