Artist's reflection: A single fruit on a plane flat surface. While the image is simple it makes you wonder why the artist painted it. What was his intention. 
 
The silence in Zhang’s paintings comes from the peacefulness of his soul. In his paintings, it is as though each color is painted on a limestone colored wall. The colors used are infiltrated by gray and white tones – thus losing their original strength, but softly and elegantly blending together.
