Artist's reflection: The color red clearly dominates this image, yet it is not the only focal point. Within this contemporary painting we see a primate who is wearing a hat and looking off to the side at something. Wang has also incorporates newspaper copy, but how do they relate to each other? 
 
Wang's "Newspaper" series includes urban landscapes, modern figures, mineral water bottles, wine glasses, books and flowers. Through the use of newspapers, the artist recreates a relationship with different times, and strives to present concrete things in via the newspapers. The result brings the image and the content of the newspapers together. And through this process of colliding the different eras, we absorb an even deeper meaning from the art.
