Artist's reflection: In this piece, Yu draws your eyes to two areas. The first is the apparent gathering of what seems to be red leaves of a tree. The second is the surrounding green and blue leaves of neighboring arbors. He leaves quite a bit of ambiguity as to the season thus encouraging viewers to use their imagination. 
 
And while Yu's Enchanted Forest series leverages sharp brush strokes and a fantasy like environment to create a stark world for others to enjoy; here he also adds in blotchier and smoother brush strokes to reach his goal of an enchanting scene.
