Artist's reflection: A person who appears filled with several colors in a random way seems to devolve from human to primate. The scene is completely covered by tan and gray boxes in a checkered pattern while a few large bars of various sizes and colors crisscross the entire image. 
 
In this series of contemporary paintings, Cao articulates himself with a counter-perspective. What you see is the mirror image of evolution, a devolution.
