Artist's reflection: This landscape contemporary painting, while definitely beautiful, is - on the surface - nothing extraordinary. The artist intelligently decided to not add details to his work, and it is this decision that makes such a wonderful piece of art. At the very least a viewer can add in the details she / he wants to make it a unique painting to her / him. 
 
Hong Yu, who is originally from a rural setting, has a deep connection with the four seasons and a special affection for their characteristics including the rain, snow, wind and frost. During his 1,000+ kilometer journey from Anhui Province, China to Beijing, China he captured these characteristics and the atmosphere that enveloped him. Through his artwork, Hong likes to convey to others what he sees and how his heart interprets it.
