Artist's reflection: The title is an explicit description of the image, yet to understand Zhang's artwork, it is necessary to think beyond what you see. Do you see comfort? Rejuvenation? Weariness? Something else? 
 
The silence in Zhang’s paintings comes from the peacefulness of his soul. In his paintings, it is as though each color is painted on a limestone colored wall. The colors used are infiltrated by gray and white tones – thus losing their original strength, but softly and elegantly blending together.
